Campfire Ministries' focus is people … and the impact Jesus Christ has on their lives.
It is the direction and passion of the Executive Directors and the Board of Directors of Campfire Ministries & CAMP BOB to expand this ministry into North and West Vancouver Island communities. There are no Christian camps north of CAMP BOB on Vancouver Island and the potential to attract children and youth to camp from northern communities is restricted only by our ability to access them easily. We have recently become aware of the growing concern among First Nations communities for the need to provide positive role models and alternatives to their youth. We are excited at the prospect of bringing some of their children to camp and we are equally excited at the potential of developing Mission Outreach teams capable of taking Day Camp programs into their communities.
VISION of CAMPFIRE MINISTRIES
We are limited in reaching the goals of our Vision by our present lack of permanency and infrastructure. We believe that as we are able to develop a permanent Ministry Centre Base Camp where we can facilitate Leadership Training and Mission Outreach teams throughout the year, impact into outlying communities will be attainable.
Not having ownership of the CAMP BOB site on Roberts Lake, restricts our ability to:
Gaining ownership of Crown Land is a process that takes much time. There are many logistical challenges and hurdles to overcome. However, because of our positive relationship and partnership agreements with the BC Ministry of Tourism, Culture & the Arts, we are confident we can keep operating CAMP BOB in it's present location with it's current program.
Owning property on the lake is the obvious step to take this ministry to the next level.
The possibility of this vision becoming a reality is beginning to unfold as we begin to explore some options for property ownership on Roberts Lake.
