Summer Staff Financial Information

Campfire Ministries is a faith-based ministry and all staff, including the Directors, presently raise their own financial support.  We are sorry we cannot pay salaries to our summer staff positions at this time.  We know it is difficult for College and University students to commit to a summer of service without guaranteed remuneration, and we cannot compete on a financial level with the opportunities provided in the work force.  We do believe that if God calls you to serve in camp ministry, He will also provide what you need.  It may not look like what you expect, but He is faithful to look after those He calls into ministry.

Upon request, we will make available to you a Campfire Ministries letter that you can distribute to your church, friends, and family outlining your summer ministry involvement and seeking support on your behalf.

For more information on our financial policy and scholarship application process, see the Sr. Staff Application Form under Forms & Applications.

Summer Staff Training

(June 27 - 30, 2012)

One week of basic training will be held for all summer staff, in preparation for July and August's camps.  Sessions include instruction on leading tent devotions and firesides, camp counselling, teaching crafts and activities, camp standards, policies, procedures, and orientation with the camp's facilities and surroundings.  This time of training and growing together is important preparation.  It develops team spirit and confidence as we head into two months of self-giving service, expressing Christ's love to campers.
